Steps for floating installation

|
Lay out 4 to 5 rows of planks ahead of time that match in terms of joints and color.
|

Cut out imperfections planks or place them in less visible areas.
|
|

|
Lay a 6-mil polyfilm underlayment with 8” overlapping seams.
|

|
Fasten every seams every 18” to 24” with duct tape or poly tape.
|

|
Run 4” polyfilm up again the perimeter of wall. |

|
Use chalk line to trace starting line with ½” expansion joint at the side and ¼” at row end.
|

Place expansion spacer at every 12” along all walls to prevent movement during installation.

Install 1st plank along the starting line with the tongue facing out
|

|
Install from left to right.
|

|
Apply PVAc adhesive to upper side of groove. Do not apply adhesive to tongue.
|

|
Use pull bar to tighten end joint and knocking block for the side.
|

|
Start subsequent row using the remainder of the cut-off end plank from previous row.
|

|
The remainder plank must be at least 6” in length. |

|
Once the entire surface is covered, remove expansion spacer and install molding to cover the expansion joint.

- Completed installation with molding. |
Important: During installation, immediately wipe off any adhesive from the floor surface using towels or flooring cleaner available at the local stores. Use paint thinner if adhesive persists.
